Behind the Scenes Commentary
- I was really, really amazed at the response I got for “The Moment.” What can I say; I’m a sucker for a good review, lol. So when one of my reviewers mentioned that maybe I ought to try Ron’s P.O.V., I had to give it a go!
- It’s a bit amusing for me that my sequel ended up longer than the original. We’ll see if that’s good or bad.
- I do feel like I was a little more…Mmm…I’ll say informal with this one. Then again, Ron’s P.O.V. usually is, it’s what I love about him.
- I had a little trouble deciding which memories for Ron to remember, because I thought maybe the readers from “The Moment” would get bored with everything being repeated. So I compromised by leaving some of them out, and instead giving Ron a little more different things to dwell on, such as what Harry told him, and of course, lol, Hermione’s methods over house-elves.
Deleted Scenes
- Again, this one was pretty straight forward. Mostly because I had a format already ready to go.
Making it Work
- While I didn’t want it to be absolutely redundant from “The Moment,” why fix something that isn’t broke? My kind reviewers seemed pretty responsive with the format that “The Moment” had, so I decided to follow it almost exactly.
- Obviously, from a different P.O.V. doesn’t change the actions, so while those are all the same, I did try describing everything a little different
- Almost every paragraph break matches a break from TM
- I keep lots of the same themes in each paragraph, just with Ron’s voice and thoughts.
Overall
- As I said in my author’s note- I wanted this to match TM, but not be an exact duplicate. While I do see similarities, I think this one can stand on its own as well, which I think is the mark of a good sequel…’course, we’ll let the readers decide that, lol!
- I must confess though, that I do have a soft spot for this one…if only because Ron is my favorite character!
- I like this one just as much as TM…hopefully, a good sign! :)

Sneak Peak at "The Other Moment"
Just finished writing "The Other Moment," the sequel/companion piece to "The Moment."
I would post it now, but it is 3am and I am really really tired! I expect I'll post it around midday tomorrow; it'll definately be up before the night is over.
I do hope it goes over as well as its twin. :)
For anyone lucky though, lol, here's a sneak peak:
It is a funny thing, that even when you crave for something so much it hurts, you know that the wait for it is what makes it worth it in the end. Even though the wait is long and filled with countless doubts and insecurities, you know that without them, it wouldn’t mean so much to you. And in the end, you come to realize that each and every second you waited is what makes the moment when it happens so special.
After this...I've got a few more R/Hr Deathly Hallows moments to go. They're beginning to add up, but I just gotta throw my own out there as well!
