EFRN: Review Responses

Life intervenes! It’s not the right time frame, but at least it’s still on Tuesday (well, for Pacific Time it still is, lol)!!

Alright, here are the issues I wanted to touch on from the first two chapters…and in general:
***
Dumbledore (Ch.1): You guys who approved have no idea how relieved I was to hear that you thought that he was very in-character. I’ll admit it and I don’t hide it: I never really liked Dumbledore, like in the series. Nope. He lost me in Book 5. I never (and don’t) hate him; I just was always reluctant to trust him. And after Deathly Hallows, I feel fully justified in doing that!

Anyways, I was either thinking that I was going to screw up his character because I didn’t like him, or I was going to make him sound like a fortune cookie. I spent quite a bit of time trying to tweak it just right. So hearing that I was able to get your approval on him was really, really great.

Ron and George (Ch.2): Without giving too much away, those of you who heard what JKR had to say in her post-DH web chat may be able to see where I’m going with this. Either way, I am making it a very persistent plot point, the whole Ron being there for George thing.

But rather than just throw it in there, I wanted to make sure it was believable…hence Ginny pointing out to Hermione how close they actually are. …Truthfully, lol, that was really me pointing out to the readers how I saw Ron’s relationship with the twins. Afterall, they were close in age and remember in Book 4 when Harry and Ron had their fight? And who did Ron hang out with? Exactly. The twins.

All in all, I like how it’s coming along and how everyone is pleased by it.

Harry/Ginny: Patience, dear people, patience. Lol. That stuff is on the way. Though I do point out…this is mainly a Ron/Hermione fic, no matter how much other post-DH plot points I cover. Harry and Ginny will of course have their time, and you will see some of it, but not as much as I’ll give for Ron and Hermione (at least not yet). It’s nothing personal and it’s not like I don’t like the ship. It’s just that I have to wait to see when I can write them in…and that’s usually when I’m done with the Ron/Hermione or a different plot point.

More often then not you’ll see it casually slipped in and then they get their own screen time in Chapter 5. …I am toying with the idea of their own chapter though…”toying with” being the key phrase….though in my experience, lol, it means it’ll happen. But it’s not for awhile…definitely in one of the teen chapters (13, 14, 15 etc.)

Sharing Tissues: This is perhaps one of my favorite comments. No, lol, I’m not taking pleasure in making you all cry. It’s just that it truly reassures me that I am bringing out the right emotions for you. In fact, there’s quite a few chapter that I myself was teary during, and I wrote them! Lol. So know that we are crying together.

The New Wands (Ch.2): THANK GOODNESS you guys took to this. *whew* Lol.

Ron/Hermione: Alright. Really need to talk about these two, lol. They’re only the reason I began this in the first place. :P

I am a staunch Ron/Hermione shipper. I have been for years. And I am beyond thrilled they are together, still celebrating actually. However, there’s a lot to do with them, and I’m going to cover it all. Together they may be, but they do have some stuff to go though, of course. Without giving stuff away, I want you to know that these two really go through the ringer, lol.

I’ve gotten a few comments that are glad that I’m not too over dramatic with them. …but I have to admit…I will, do, and have tackled that. But, when I do it, I want you to know that I strive soooooo hard to keep them in character and if I think the drama is too heavy, I quickly shift to a lighter mood or even go a bit fluffy before I hit the drama again. I also have done the all too common plot points of them confessing to each other and/or talking about what happened in the past…but I’ve tried hard to avoid all outside influence, and just wrote it how I saw it.

They’re going to bicker. They’re going to comfort each other. They’re going to go from being angry with one another to holding each close…sometimes in the span of a few paragraphs sometimes over a chapter or two. They have to work on some things, where as others will come easy. There may be some jealousy, there will some challenges and scary moments…but in the end, they’re still going to have each other. …You know, sort of how it all happened in the series. XD

All that being said…I’m not going to break them up. NO. WAY. Please. You think after seven years, I’d want them to break up!? I think not. I may have them fight, or say mean things, or, I don’t know, ignore each other. But no one is going to cheat on each other. No one is going to get upset and storm out and come back three years later. By my calculations, there is a seven year period that is post-DH and before they get married, so no, lol, no one is leaving anyone for long.

On that same coin…I’m definitely not rushing anything…I dare you to find the words “I Love You” before, like, the first dozen chapters. You can’t rush that stuff in real life, and I’m not going to in the fic.

It’s like the title says. This is “Everyday,” for them. If I have to go one day at a time and 100 chapters (*is amused by the thought*) then I will.

…Those I believe were all the pressing matters. *Whew!* Told ya I can talk a lot. XP

My next post is going to be much simpler…I’m trying to keep as clear of a schedule for Thursday so I can post Chapter 3 then, but it may conflict with another responsibility I may have that same day.

Sooooooooo, tomorrow, Wednesday, I’m posing a teaser for you all. Thursday or Friday comes the Chapter.

Last things to mention:
1) I hope your all okay with my forms of response, be them one-on-one, in the blog, or briefly mentioned in my Author’s Notes.
2) I was thinking of maybe reworking the summary for EFRN. Anyone opposed to this or have ideas??

Alrighty! See ya tomorrow with the teaser!

EFRN Double Post: Regarding the Reviews and a Schedule

My goodness. I am not kidding when I say that I am really amazed and grateful that I’ve gotten such a warm response for Everyday From Right Now. Unbelievable; thank you to all my reviewers!!

As I’ve mentioned several times before, I don’t really like long Author’s Notes. I don’t know why…I guess I like thinking that what matters is the story; anything else I have to say doesn’t need to clutter it. This is why I respond to my reviewers with the reply/email option instead of listing it with a story chapter. It’s also why I do those huge commentary posts in here as well; I always want to make sure the readers now where I’m at with my writing and/or why I chose to do something the way I did. … And it’s one of the reasons I started this blog in the first place, lol, because I know me, and I LOVE to talk. ;)

As I was reading my new reviews from Chapter 2, I realized that things were being echoed and that I wanted to address them as a whole for everyone, but there was quite a lot to say. …As you will see when I post Chapter 3, even while I did mention the Harry/Ginny issue, it was not as fully as I wanted to (like I will here).

So, it seems I have found something new to post, in addition to my commentaries, teasers, and schedules. I will now have responses to the reviews. But…it is now 1:30 am (PST) and I’ve been hard at work writing for awhile (for EFRN, of course) so I’m going to have to save the responses for another day so I can go to sleep.

What I will leave you with, is my schedule for the next few days, time permitting of course, but the posts in the blog should appear in this order:

Tuesday: Review Responses on Chapters 1 and 2. Yes, I’ll touch on Ch.1 a bit as well and hit on Ch.2 as much as I can.

Wednesday: If I have to hold Chapter 3 until Friday (i.e. Life intervenes) there will be a teaser posted. If all signs are go, and Thursday is clear for updating…then the chance is 50/50…

Thursday/Friday: Chapter 3 will be posted, with commentary to follow.

Keep an eye out for everything…I usually update the blog mid-day (12pm-3pm PST) or in the evening (6pm-8pm PST), just fyi. :D

Ciao for now!
