Everyday From Right Now: Chapter 6

LINK: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3725509/6/

Yet again, lol, this comes with the disclaimer that I am currently under the influence of cold medicine and so if I end up on a wild tangent…well, you’ll know why at least. So before the sneezing comes back...here's the commentary on EFRN Chapter 6

***
-- "I’m all for them being together and I don’t mind helping when they act like idiots", Ginny thought dispassionately as she climbed back up the stairs to the other dorm, "but I don’t think Harry or I can keep doing this everyday."

In other words, there’s only room for two people in a relationship. Yes, this is a close knit group of friends, but Harry is not Dr. Phil and Ginny is not Oprah. I’ll be having them talking to both Ron and Hermione about their relationship, obviously, but its high time that Ron and Hermione begin learning how to work things out for themselves, rather than sending envoys back and forth. Will Hermione share her worries with Ginny and will Harry still call Ron an idiot? Of course. But that’s where it ends. Both couples need their space to be a couple. And in my story, it more or less starts now.

-- Alright, lol, time to explain the stairs.

To put it simply, I’ve always thought that the fact that a boy could (literally) not step foot on the girls’ staircase to be hysterical. I’ve seen it used in fan fics only a few times and I’ve always thought it was under used.

So when it came time to have Ron and Hermione make up, I knew two things. I knew that I wanted Ron to step up and take the initiative and that he could only do that until Hermione came down into the common room. But then (as Ron himself explains) I thought that, well, obviously, Ron would think that Hermione was still cross with him and not want to come downstairs. And we all know how Ron is quick to act without really thinking…I just pictured him barging up the stairs, which of course would become that slide, and then he’d be in a dilemma: to climb or not to climb? And in my story, lol, he climbed. And if you’ve ever tried climbing UP a slide, like at a playground, you know it’s not always easy. Which is why Hermione ends up so taken by it. ;)

-- And, honestly, I know that I pushed Hermione to the limits of canon at the very end, LOL. But, hey, she had a favor to return, I couldn’t deny her the chance! ;)

Not a whole lot, due too the short(ish) chapter, but it’s one of my fav’s so there you are!

And as I mentioned earlier, I need to start working on a concrete updating schedule, that way I can transition it into when I start school again, so your next update ought to be around next week…Thursday MAYBE, Friday more likely.

And lastly…I passed 100 reviews on EFRN as of Chapter Five. *IS AMAZED* It took me a long time to decide where to thank everybody. I hate huge author’s notes so didn’t do it there, and wasn’t sure who checks my blog regularly, so it went into my profile at FanFiction. I may list over 50 distinct people, but the hit counter, and story alerts don’t lie; I know there’s more who read. And that is what matters most- the fact that people are reading, not the number of reviewers. I LOVE YOU ALL! *hugs!*
